Together with the whole team of the department of Urban Development of the Municipality of The Hague, our colleagues of BIZ and Steenworp, the regional organization that provides us with available office locations, we were guests of the NIBC, a Dutch bank, which is streamlined around two strategic pillars- “merchant bank” and “specialized finance”.
A presentation by the CFO of NIBC, Mr. van Dijkhuizen, learned us that the NIBC offers a wide range of services to mid- market financial institutions and insurance companies, as well as servicing the needs of mid market companies, often run by their owner or shareholders, who commonly require tailor made products and services.
Since the NIBC is serving the same innovative sectors as the WFIA, it was with great pleasure to learn more about this Dutch bank, one of the few to have a dedicated Financial Institutions team based in the Netherlands, rather than in London.
After the presentation we enjoined drinks and with our colleagues. It was good to see familiar faces and very nice to meet new colleagues. I think that all parties agreed that we have to meet more regularly.
